I hold certifications as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) , corrective exercise specialist (CES), and personal trainer (CPT) from both the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I also have a bachelor's of science in Clinical Exercise and a minor in Nutrition and Healthy Living from Arizona State University (ASU).
Strength & Conditioning (S&C) is a specialized area within fitness and athletics focused on enhancing physical performance through various training techniques. It encompasses the development of strength, power, speed, endurance, and flexibility. The origins of S&C can be traced back to ancient Greece, where athletes trained rigorously to improve their performance in sports. Over time, this evolved with research and practice, especially during the 20th century when scientific advances started to influence training methods.
In the modern era, S&C is an integral part of athletic training programs. It adopts evidence-based practices to optimize performance, prevent injuries, and promote overall physical health. Unlike traditional personal training, which often focuses on general fitness and aesthetic goals, S&C is rooted in the enhancement of human performance. While bodybuilding emphasizes muscle hypertrophy and physique, S&C prioritizes functional strength, power, and agility tailored to the specific demands of a sport or activity.
A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) possesses a more extensive level of education, a broader range of expertise, and a more distinct role compared to a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT).
A CSCS typically holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field and has passed a rigorous certification exam administered by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Their education focuses on optimizing athletic performance through advanced training techniques, injury prevention, and sports-specific conditioning. This makes them highly suitable for working with elite athletes, teams, and serious trainees aiming to enhance their athletic prowess. A CSCS's skills and education often enables them to cover the roles of a CPT at a much higher and specialized level.
On the other hand, a CPT generally requires a high school diploma and certification from reputable organizations like NASM, ACE, or ISSA. CPTs are skilled in creating personalized fitness programs, offering nutritional advice, and guiding clients through general fitness improvements. They cater to a broader audience, including those new to exercise, individuals aiming for weight loss, and people looking to improve their overall health and wellness.
Corrective Exercise is a specialized form of exercise aimed at addressing and rectifying imbalances, weaknesses, and compensatory movement patterns in the body. Originating from the fields of physical therapy and biomechanics, corrective exercise combines principles of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology to improve movement efficiency, reduce the risk of injury, and enhance overall functional performance. I incorporate corrective exercise into my training programs to optimize my clients' physical capabilities. My approach involves a comprehensive assessment to identify any dysfunctional movement patterns or muscular imbalances. Based on this assessment, I develop targeted corrective exercise strategies that aim to resolve these issues. By integrating corrective exercises into our fitness regimens, I ensure that my clients not only achieve their immediate fitness goals but also build a solid foundation for long-term health and performance. This holistic approach enhances athletic performance, aids in injury recovery, and contributes to overall well-being.
I have no doubt about your ability to do well independently. If "doing fine" aligns with your goals, that's perfectly alright. However, my expertise lies in propelling individuals "beyond" what they could achieve on their own. I focus on the finer details. I don't offer one-size-fits-all programs or generic techniques. Instead, every component of my training is thoughtfully selected to cater to your distinct objectives and current fitness level. This is just one of the many reasons why I believe having a highly educated strength coach by your side is essential if you're genuinely committed to reaching your fitness goals.
I have worked with a variety of elite athletes and teams, including Division I football players, prospective NBA and NFL players, and the Tempe Football team. My experience involves creating and implementing specialized workout routines, which reflects my understanding of human performance, nutrition, and corrective exercise. I tailor my programs to the specific needs of each client, from top-tier athletes to everyday fitness enthusiasts, ensuring a customized training regimen that maximizes potential at any fitness level.
I've had the privilege of working with a number of individuals, from athletes and bodybuilders to those on a journey of self-improvement. My experience spans a broad spectrum of goals, from supporting weight loss efforts to helping clients achieve personal bests on the bench press and more. There's very little I haven't encountered. If you happen to bring a unique challenge my way, I'm committed to going the extra mile to discover what will work best for you. Resourcefulness is one of my core strengths. So, no matter how steep the mountain, we'll tackle it together.
I created Ripper Performance Training, driven by the ambition to use my specialized skills, to assist individuals where traditional methods and conventional trains of thought have fallen short. As a leading strength coach and corrective exercise specialist, I am dedicated to delivering exceptional expertise in human performance and nutrition. What truly sets me apart is my commitment to offering budget-friendly training options without sacrificing the quality of my services. In a market often dominated by grifters and greed, I stand out by prioritizing genuine care and results for my clients. I, and by extension, Ripper Performance Training, empower everyone to achieve their fitness goals with integrity and professionalism.
I'm committed to advancing my expertise by obtaining industry-leading certifications. I'm actively pursuing a collection of certifications that I believe will play a pivotal role in my development as a coach. My commitment to staying informed and up-to-date in the ever-evolving field of exercise science is unwavering. I actively engage with my professional organization, regularly participate in conferences, and eagerly embrace continuous learning as a fundamental aspect of my personal and professional growth. Rest assured, I am dedicated to providing the most current and effective knowledge and practices to guide you on your fitness journey.
Every program kicks off with a comprehensive fitness assessment, and all subsequent decisions are based on the data we collect. I evaluate various factors, such as body circumference, functional movement, muscular strength, aerobic fitness, and muscular balance. My goal is to create a program that targets your weaknesses while enhancing your strengths. I also take into account your dietary habits and daily activities. Your personal training plan will be precisely that – personal, tailored to your unique needs and objectives.
Besides the initial assessment, I conduct retests every 8 weeks. This schedule allows us to track progress, ensuring our program aligns with your desired results. I meticulously record the exercises, volume, tempo, and weights used in each session. Because I empower you to choose the weight and intensity for your exercises, you can expect genuine, organic improvements from week to week.
Each session is thoughtfully structured to last 1 hour, providing ample time to meet our daily training objectives. But, consider it a pleasant surprise when you discover that I extended the session by an extra 30 minutes, completely free of charge. This bonus time allows you to wrap up your final block comfortably or ask any questions that might arise. Your progress and confidence are my top priorities!
Every session is thoughtfully tailored to your unique needs. Typically, our session structure comprises five key components: corrective exercise, dynamic warm-up, performance training, resistance exercises, and conditioning. We begin with corrective exercises, utilizing myofascial rolling and stretching to target overactive muscles and alleviate potential hindrances. This is followed by a dynamic warm-up phase, incorporating low-intensity movements to increase body temperature and activate underactive muscles, enhancing your range of motion and performance.
The performance training section is next, where we focus on integrated movements like plyometrics, change of direction, and acceleration/speed training. Our resistance training incorporates free weights, resistance bands, sliders, and various equipment to achieve specific fitness goals. Finally, we conclude with a conditioning phase, utilizing cardio equipment to target different energy systems.
Keep in mind that the emphasis on each section may vary based on your specific needs. If more attention is required in the corrective exercise or performance training areas, we'll allocate additional time accordingly, ensuring that your session is precisely tailored to you.
All assigned workouts are provided via Excel, as I find it the most efficient tool for detailed workout planning and tracking. To access your assigned workouts, simply log in to your account dashboard on the website. You will find an Excel link there that will direct you to your personalized workout plan. Additionally, you can navigate to the 'Workouts' tab within the app, where the link will also be available.
I understand that everyone’s fitness journey is unique, and the equipment needed can vary based on personal preference and access to facilities. If you have a gym membership, I can design workouts using the full range of equipment available, such as free weights, machines, and cardio equipment, to optimize your training program. For those who prefer to work out at home, I can recommend budget-friendly equipment like resistance bands, dumbbells, and stability balls. Additionally, I can provide effective body-weight exercises that require no equipment at all. If a hybrid approach suits you better, combining both gym and home workouts, we can create a customized plan that leverages both settings to maximize results.
Affordability and accessibility are central to my mission of bringing the highest level of exercise science to those committed to transforming their lives. Sessions are priced at just $40 per hour, with flexible package options of 4, 8, and 12 sessions to suit your individual needs.

I can offer a dual training session for those who prefer to train with a partner. However, it’s important to be aware of the potential drawbacks of transitioning from a 1-on-1 session to a dual session. Firstly, if both parties possess varying levels of training, the likelihood of overtraining or undertraining one party increases. Furthermore, it is more probable that deviations from desired objectives will occur due to the unique needs of each individual. Consequently, training two parties within the same session will inevitably necessitate program compromises. Secondly, scheduling can be more complex. Finding a common time that suits both clients and myself requires more coordination, potentially reducing the availability of your preferred time slots. Thirdly, the attention you receive will be split. While I consider myself adept at managing sessions, the personalized attention you receive during 1-on-1 sessions will be divided between you and your training partner, which can create potential conflicts with technique and safety monitoring. Lastly, pricing for dual sessions differs. While it may be more cost-effective per person compared to individual sessions, it’s crucial to understand the pricing structure. There’s a 50% upcharge on the total session cost ($40 to $60) to accommodate the second person. This still offers a $10 discount to both parties, reducing the price to $30 per person. However, with this new structure, there are additional stipulations. When using dual session credits, both parties must be present to receive the discount. If one person doesn’t show, the price for the session attended by the sole party will revert to standard pricing ($40). Transitioning to dual training sessions can be an excellent choice for those who enjoy a more collaborative and motivating environment, but keeping these points in mind will help ensure that you and your partner get the most out of your training.
I understand that life can be unpredictable, and plans can change. The standard procedure is to inform me as far in advance as possible, ideally at least 12 hours before your scheduled session. This allows me to manage my schedule efficiently and accommodate other clients. However, I recognize that emergencies can occur. Therefore, I am quite flexible and willing to reschedule your session or refund your session credit as long as I am informed at all prior to it, regardless of the timing. My leniency is, however, not to be abused. If no-shows without communication become a recurring issue, I reserve the right to deduct a session credit.
I’m committed to providing maximum flexibility to meet your needs. Generally, all session pack purchases are non-refundable under normal circumstances. However, I understand that unforeseen events can arise. In such cases, like sudden job loss or other significant life events, or if there’s an accidental double purchase, I may be able to refund a portion or all of your purchase. If no sessions have been utilized, the likelihood of a full refund increases if you inform me promptly. Ultimately, the decision to refund is at my discretion.
If you have a friend interested in joining Ripper Performance Training, there are several ways to get them started. You can invite them to join through the app or website, where they can set up a free consultation with me to discuss their fitness goals and how I can help. Alternatively, they can contact me directly using my phone number or email to arrange a consultation or ask any questions they might have. Another option is to bring your friend to one of your next training sessions, where they can sit in and observe to get a feel for what I offer. Whatever method you choose, I'm excited to help your friend start their fitness journey.

By participating in the Ripper Performance Training Referral Program, all participants expressly agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Any questions should be directed to RPT prior to participation.
When you purchase a session pack, you’re not bound to that specific pack indefinitely. You have the freedom to upgrade to a larger pack with more sessions per week if you find yourself needing more training time to achieve your goals more quickly. Conversely, if your schedule becomes busier or your needs decrease, you can easily downgrade to a smaller pack with fewer sessions per week. You don’t even need to ask me. This flexible approach ensures that you have the optimal level of support and training to meet your ever-changing fitness goals.
Clients can submit feedback or make specific requests directly to me via email or text or through the dedicated Support Form. You can find this form in the 'Forms' tab on the mobile app or on the website dashboard. By utilizing the form, you can ensure that your input is received promptly and accurately.
